Upcoming events in NYC:
A History of Witches
Date: September 30, 2026
Time: 7-9pm ET
Throughout history, women with power, knowledge, and influence have been feared - and often labeled witches. In this workshop, we'll explore the stories of women in American history who held knowledge of healing, midwifery, childbirth, and birth control, and how that knowledge made them targets of suspicion and persecution. Together, we'll unpack what happens when women's wisdom threatens systems of control - and why these stories still resonate today.
Community Organizing for Our Rights: 2-part series
Date: October
How do ordinary people create extraordinary social change? In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore how grassroots organizers built movements to challenge slavery and segregation and advance women’s suffrage and LGBTQ rights. Together, we’ll examine the strategies, relationships, and civic actions that helped reshape American democracy—and consider what these lessons can teach us about today’s political landscape and the upcoming midterm elections. Participants will leave with a deeper historical understanding, practical tools for civic engagement, and renewed confidence in the power of collective action. In the second half of this series we will go out in the community and volunteer together to support work around strengthening democracy ahead of the midterm elections. If you are looking for ways to influence positive political change join us!
YOUTH & FAMILY
We will work directly with young people to teach history and civics education. Our programming with students centers around project-based and authentic learning experiences such as how to propose new legislation at a city council meetings. We also offer workshops for families around how to talk to young people about sensitive topics in history and current events.
